Wise Systems unveils next-generation ai solution to drive fleet utilization in last-mile delivery fleets
Pioneering application of machine learning enables 90% utilization rate
CAMBRIDGE, MA – Wise Systems, the leading AI-driven routing and dispatching platform provider, today introduces the latest generation of their AI-powered solution, Machine-Learned Service Times. The latest version expands the solution’s ability to tackle the longstanding challenges that fleet operators often face in accurately determining service times — the amount of time it takes a driver to complete a stop. This essential piece of information is critical for maximizing fleet utilization, and is now based on an expanded list of factors.
Fast-moving transportation operations in today’s economy have an acute need to automatically manage the complex decision-making processes that maximize fleet efficiency and customer service. Traditionally, dispatchers and planners estimate service times without the data needed to ensure accuracy, and only perform this exercise a few times per year. These inaccurate projections and infrequent analyses compromise fleet performance, efficiency, and on-time arrivals, which are key metrics for last-mile fleets across all sectors ranging from food and beverage to parcel and courier services.
“We are proud to bring the latest version of our machine learning models to market, and enhance the value we bring to our customers,” said Ali Kamil, CTO and co-founder of Wise Systems. “For organizations that want to improve fleet utilization, machine-learned service times are the proverbial golden ticket, enabling them to build more accurate routes and continuously and automatically improve fleet efficiency and performance.”
With this release, Wise Systems is further enhancing its industry-leading algorithm and is cementing its position as the machine-learning pioneer in the last-mile industry. Powering the solution is a set of predictive AI models developed by Wise Systems that has enabled customers to reach more than 90 percent fleet utilization. The enhanced model now factors in more variables, including size of the delivery, weight of the delivery, stop priority, delivery type, driver, day of week and month. These variables are now calculated in addition to historical service times to create the more robust machine-learned service times for each stop.
Wise Systems’ real-time, fully automated platform powers delivery and service operations with thousands of drivers worldwide. Customers range from multi-billion dollar global enterprises, including Anheuser-Busch and Lyft, to market leaders across food, beverage, parcel, courier, field service, and other industries.
